About Allyson

I love writing!

I'm not sure when I knew how much I loved it until I continued to turn to it in high school, college, and then as a career teaching it. At first, I thought it was my default setting until I left the classroom, and noticed writing was waiting for me.

Writing is what I do.

I am a writer.

I write for pleasure, out of frustration, to create joy, to communicate on behalf of those who cannot, and to demonstrate how powerful language can be.

When I write for others, I embody their voice, tone, and style to maintain brand consistency. I pride myself on being organized and authentic with my writing and with my overall work ethic.

When A Course Inspection Is More Than Just A Course Inspection

Sometimes it’s difficult to put into words all of the “things” we are capable of doing at Project Adventure. We could say the basic: “we build and install challenge courses,” “we write curriculum for physical education and health and wellness classes,” or “we do team building,” or… The list could go on, but those “things” we do don’t even fracture the iceberg of our organization’s work. Our doors to innovate the experiential education field through the use of adventure opened in 1971, and 46 yea

Notch Mobile Biergarten

On historic property designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the Notch Mobile Biergarten brought the South Lawn to life this past weekend with families, friends, and so many dogs. We are lucky to be situated on property that seems to be an oasis on the North Shore. The drawback to being an oasis is that not many people know where we are. I suppose that aligns with Olmsted’s original vision of his design, but we want to share what we have with our community and neighbors. The Notch Mobile Biergarten

Keeping Community Ties Strong

Our programs can involve a team of varsity athletes, striving to improve their leadership and communication skills for the upcoming season. Our programs can also be celebratory in nature where grade levels honor their accomplishments and their commitment to their Full Value Learning Contract with a day on our course, applying the skills they practiced throughout the year. Whatever the program, our objectives are to build healthy communities and create lifelong learners out of all our participant

Why Learning Isn’t Finite

Remember when you were a kid and you couldn’t wait until you graduated high school because you never had to go to school again? And then you went to college. So you waited another four years (or five, or six, or…) to get a job and be done with going to classes, turning in homework, and agonizing over tests. And then you got an entry level position in a giant company where you were just a number, and things got real. So this is the point in your life where “two roads diverged in a yellow wood

Play: The Universal Language

There is a wonderful event that occurs on the first Thursday of each month. This event not only serves dinner and allows for a safe space for neighborhood kids to come out and play, but it also links families with community organizations that can provide further support. So what is it? It’s called 1st Thursday, and it’s hosted by the Beverly Police Department and the North Shore Community Development Coalition. Each month, they get the neighborhood of Gloucester Crossing together to enjoy each
